Lil Scrappy is out of jail, for the time being. Scrappy turned himself into Atlanta police on Tuesday (April 23) after a warrant had been issued for his arrest.

The arrest was for an alleged probation violation. Scrappy was on probation stemming from his 2008 marijuana-related arrest.

Now that he's got his own degree program at USC, Dr. Dre is ready to get back to music. "I'm more inspired to go back into the studio now," Dr. Dre says in an interview with LA Weekly. "Beats is rolling, this [USC] thing is happening, and it's incredible. Now I'm ready to go back to my first love."

Dre says that the USC program, the USC Jimmy Iovine and Andre Young Academy for Arts, Technology and the Business of Innovation that he and longtime business partner Iovine donated $70 million to create, will not impact his work on his much-delayed Detox album, though he's not working on that project in particular right now.

Super-producer Dr. Dre (born Andre Young) and influential music executive Jimmy Iovine are using parts of their substantial fortunes to help cultivate the next generation of music business moguls. It was announced that the pair is giving the University of Southern California $70 million to create a new music academy. “The vision and generosity of Jimmy Iovine and Andre Young will profoundly influence the way all of us perceive and experience artistic media,” said USC President C.L. Max Nikias

Future’s “Karate Chop” has been a topic of interest in Hip-Hop for the last several months due to the controversial lyrics by the song’s featured artist. Lil Wayne’s reference to Emmett Till, the African-American teenager who was brutally murdered by two white men in 1955, upset the Till family and eventually cost the Young Money rapper his endorsement deal with Mountain Dew.
