The Dogg Pound Readies Mixtape Series 'D.P.G.C.ology' With DJ Nik Bean

Daz and Kurupt of The Dogg Pound are teaming up with Los Angeles’ DJ Nik Bean to release a new series of mixtapes called D.P.G.C.’ology. The collective have decided to drop the first project on April 20 (4/20) at exactly 4:20 pm EST.

“This is what me and Daz live for – music – forever and a day,” said Kurupt about the new series. “I’m excited to be a part of this new mixtape series. I’ve always had a great rapport with Daz and Kurupt and I look forward to many more successful projects,” added DJ Nik Bean.

Daz and Kurupt are also still preparing their upcoming album, Alumni, with Executive Producers, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg.

Dr. Dre Scrapped 'Detox' Title For Next Album

All the running jokes that Dr. Dre’s album Detox is never coming out appear to be completely factual. According to Aftermath producer Dawaun Parker, Dre changed the name of his next album years ago.

“Here’s the thing that a lot of people don’t know… at one point a couple of years ago – and I’m only saying this because [R&B singer] Marsha Ambrosius revealed more – that the album [Dre's] working on is not called ‘Detox’,” said Parker. “He scrapped ‘Detox’ a couple of years ago, and came up with another title. I won’t say what the title is cause I haven’t seen that online or anything yet.”

Eminem Sues New Zealand National Party Over 'Lose Yourself'

Eminem has filed a lawsuit against New Zealand’s National party for the use of “Lose Yourself,” a song from the 8 Mile soundtrack, in an ad for prime minister John Key. Eminem’s publishers are also seeking damages for copyright infringement in the matter, according to the Associated Press. 

“Unauthorized use has been made of Eminem’s Grammy and Academy Award-winning song 'Lose Yourself' in election campaign advertising run by the National party in the lead-up to the 2014 New Zealand general election,” publishers say, according to the report.
